The Body Mechanic
Blair Martin, Physiotherapist, specialises in cycling, running and
triathlon related injury prevention and rehabilitation. As the 2007 NSW
Elite State Road Cycling champion, current team member of the KOM race team,
former New Zealand representative runner and competitive triathlete, The
Body Mechanic understands the demands you place on your body during training
and racing.

Pro Bike Fit Service
Is your bike set up to optimise power output? Or perhaps for better
aerodynamics? Chances are you are sacrificing one integral component...
sustainability. The basis of a fit with The Body Mechanic is to establish a
position which enables you to train for a long time and frequently whilst
minimising your potential for injury. A bike fit by a physiotherapist is
optimal- we can fit your body to the bike as much as the bike to your body!
A bike fit with The Body Mechanic entails off and on the bike biomechanical
and injury assessment;
Adjustment of bike position taking into account your biomechanical traits,
reducing adverse knee forces, your riding goals and your skill level;
Post assessment summary report outlining your assessment results in
understandable and relevant terms; and
Individualised exercise program intended to improve your riding efficiency
and minimise injury risk.
Physiotherapy
The Body Mechanic takes a practical approach to physiotherapy services.
With 13 years of physiotherapy experience, and over 20 years in elite
representative sport, The Body Mechanic is highly qualified to guide you
through your rehabilitation process.
Edgecliff (close to train station) and Cremorne consulting locations;
1 hour appointments;
Hands on treatment sessions;
Exercise rehabilitation focus, with a realistic and practical approach.
Biomechanical and injury assessments, and exercise programs
Experience will show that the athlete with the least interrupted build up
to an event will have the most consistent performance on the day. Take a
proactive approach to your training by identifying and addressing those
niggly areas, before they become injuries.
